FUN ' N FITchburg is a City-wide initiative to reduce obesity and risk for subsequent chronic conditions through increased opportunities for youth and families to eat healthy and live active lives.  In just a few short years, there are over 85 individuals who are involved in Fun ‘n FITchburg including: youth and residents, the Mayor, the Board of Health, the Parks and Recreation Department, City Police, the Community Health Center, Fitchburg Public Schools, the Making Opportunity Count, businesses, daycares, environmental groups, and many others.  As a team, the partnership is updating local policies, systems and the environment to make it easy for Fitchburg residents to eat healthy and be physically active.

The initiative continues to grow and is responsible for numerous new community gardens, transformation of vacant spaces, increased neighborhood walkability and improved parks.
